The abundance of wildlife in the Yellowstone ecosystem is truly spectacular. It is the perfect place to experience wildlife and wild country. A chance at seeing a grizzly sow with her cub riding on her back across a snowy field is just one of the reasons I go in early May. I leave as always giving thanks to the animals I encounter, especially the bears for their tolerance and good judgement in allowing me to walk away from the experience.
