Bobcat - Lynx rufus californicus Clips of a bobcat one evening as she was watching an area where a rabbit was grazing. She began to stalk the rabbit but rabbit ran into the brush and then so did the cat. As I got to the other side of the brush the cat had just emerged but with no rabbit. What was interesting to me is there were many quail on the trail as you will see in the video but the quail did not flush immediately and the cat showed no interest in the them and the quail seem to know the cat pose no threat to them.
Bobcat Lynx rufus californicus This is a compilation of short clips of bobcats I saw in July. Clips made on mostly foggy, windy days. (Not that I want summer to be over but I am ready for the almost daily grey thick summer coastal fog to be over!) Clips are of a bobcat on a trail where we watched each other for about 10 minutes until a hiker walked by and stood next to me; a bobcat pounce; a bobcat running from a deer; a bobcat sitting on a stump at twilight; a bobcat hunting along trail edge as I walked around bend in trail and unfortunately spooked him.
Bobcat Lynx rufus californicus My first video clips using the 7D. The clips are a compilation of clips of bobcats were made on thick foggy, windy days in low light in June. The quality is a little wacky regarding some camera shake, some out of focus in the fog, noise and a couple choppy transitions. But regardless here's a document of my first clips. The clips show brief moments of a bobcat hunting in fog, bobcat in grass, bobcat resting on a rock, and a bobcat hunting along the side of a road. The clips are of 3 different bobcats. One male and two females. One of the females is a cat I had not seen before and was seen in a completely different location than the other two...always exciting to see a new cat!
